Well, I used to say that Coaches were like Preachers, People need to follow what they stand for and not follow the person. Well, Not in the case of the Arkansas Razorbacks. So Let me re-phrase, Follow the team and not the coaches and not individuals. But you know what? I really like Arkansas State Redwolves. Just sayin.

Well, it is the beginning of the school year and so many things to look forward too. I had the awesome privilege to Baptize my two daughters a few weeks ago. It was such an awesome experience. I just don’t think that I can put it into words.
So many things that will be going on in the next few months. Volley Ball games with Lexi and the list will go on and on. I ran for school board again this year but this time I ran unopposed. So, needless to say, I made it on the school board. I hope everyone’s summer vacation was awesome and will try to post more later.
Below is the “meaning of Allah” according to Wikipedia online.
Allah (English pronunciation: /ˈælə/ or /ˈɑːlə/;[1] Arabic: الله Allāh, IPA: [ʔɑlˈlɑː] ( listen), [ʔalˤˈlˤɑː]) is a word for God, mostly used in the context of Islam. In Arabic, it is the standard word for "God," used not only by Muslims, but also by Bahá'ís, Eastern Catholic Christians, Maltese Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox Christians, Mizrahi Jews and Sikhs.[2][3][4]
From what I have read, it is stating that Allah is a word for God but mostly in context in Islam. As I research the Islam part of it, it states that Muhammad is the messenger of God or Allah.
And there we go. That is what separates the two. We serve GOD not Allah. Christians serve God and not the other. If you go with the Christian part of it then you must follow the Christian belief. That God is God. The Word of God does not say anything in it with the words “Allah” in it. Not mine anyway. ( I am sure you can buy a translation that will say what you want it to say) If you go with the Islamic part of it then you must believe the part of it that says that Muhammad is the messenger of God. Again, The Word of God does not mention Muhammad as being the messenger of God. The Word does mention that the only way to God the Father is through Jesus Christ. That is who I serve and worship and that is why I and My family have eternal life. Jesus is the Reason.
In the world today, you will read and hear lots of things but you cannot believe everything you read and hear. It has to line up with the word of God. One example is that a web site trying to teach the reader that Allah and God are the same. It has a statement on the website that says:
On page one [1] of Genesis in the Old Testament, we find the word "Allah" seventeen [17] times.
Well, I am not sure what translation of the Bible they are using but none of my Bibles have that in it. Be careful of what you read and hear. Don’t be swayed. Serve God through Jesus!
Summer is just beginning but is also moving at a fast pace. It won’t be long and the summer will be over. The kids are out of school but will be back to school in a little over a month now. You know, it’s the typical “I’m Bored!” kind of situation for the kids. The picture above is a night baseball game that we went to. Michelle and I took Bradley to see the Red Birds play in Memphis. He really loved it. Lexi left yesterday to go to Joplin, MO to help out on a mission trip with the Church youth group. She will be home tonight. Then she will be going to Church camp in another week. Allison hasn’t had much going on but she has spent a few nights at some friend’s house from time to time and to her, it seems that she is satisfied with that. Bradley is like his Daddy. He is a “home body” He just asked me a few minutes ago if we had anything going on today. I told him no. So he asked if we were going anywhere today. I said nope. He said, so we are staying at home all day?” and I said yes. His reply was typical. He said oh yes. I have been working overtime most everyday and it seems that when I get home, I just want to stay there and do nothing. Michelle explains that my “ do nothing” idea is actually playing on the computer. I am a geek or nerd so I guess that is what I do. I just got my Google+ invite yesterday so I am still playing on it and trying to figure it all out. I know Michelle gets bored with that and would rather us be able to do something together. I will have to figure that out and fix it. Not sure what we will do. I do have my vacation starting in about a week. I am looking forward to that but also plan on getting some stuff done around the house. It’s just too hot to go camping. The kids would be satisfied with staying in a local hotel for one night but what is the point of that. Just simple I guess. Easily amused. I guess I will go for now but want to actually create an article on here that will talk about some geeky stuff like some of the Google tools that are available and other thoughts. We will see how long that will take me to complete that. Have an awesome weekend.
As you can tell from the pictures, we have been busy for the past month. I actually haven’t been so busy, but Michelle and Bruce have been. We still have some finishing touches to do but for the most part, I believe that Allison and Bradley will be back in their room by the end of the week. I have a video that I will try to post that will show most of the room.
I know it has been a while since I have posted and for that I apologize. There were so many things that I wanted to write about but could never find the time to sit down at the keyboard and type it all out.
Part one of the holidays are now upon us. My household will be getting a long weekend. Some longer than others but who is counting, right? I am so looking forward to going to Russellville for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Lots of family to come together and enjoy not just the awesome food that everyone brings but also to enjoy the company and the time to play with all of the kids and visit with one another.
If you have noticed, this is just part one of the holidays. That is because Christmas will be upon us before you know it and there will be more to tell. I will try and post some pictures later but in the meantime, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Many Americans have forgotten. Forgotten a lot of things. Oh yes, we all say that we remember 9-11. But Independence day is a celebration of our separation from Great Britain and a celebration of when we became a Nation. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems that we are giving up our Independence and giving it to the government. Instead of this Nations’ Leaders concentrating on being friends with our foes, they need to make sure that they take care of our Friends and ourselves. Sit down with your family and friends and read aloud the Declaration of Independence. Afterward, Read the bible together. Let’s try to get this country back on track.
I saw this headline on the internet and thought that this has got to be one of the biggest jokes around. Well I had to click on the link to find out what it was joking about. Really, what would NASA have to do with fixing relations with anyone. There job is space exploration. I have noticed over the years how the space program has really been declining. I have read and heard about the space shuttles being retired or it being their last trip to space and on and on. What ever happened to going back to the moon or exploring Mars? Let me just clip some of the article that I read about NASA and what President Obama has in store for them.
NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said in a recent interview that his "foremost" mission as the head of America's space exploration agency is to improve relations with the Muslim world.
Though international diplomacy would seem well outside NASA's orbit, Bolden said in an interview with Al Jazeera that strengthening those ties was among the top tasks President Obama assigned him. He said better interaction with the Muslim world would ultimately advance space travel.
"When I became the NASA administrator -- or before I became the NASA administrator -- he charged me with three things. One was he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into science and math, he wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science ... and math and engineering," Bolden said in the interview.
Really?! You have got to be kidding me. Why should we cater to “The Muslim World” ? Why don’t we start catering to the “Israeli” World instead. What are these hooligans doing in Washington? Obviously not working for us. I think every single person in Washington needs to be reprimanded for not representing the people who voted for them and sent home.
Michelle and I had this wonderful experience today. We had the opportunity to be able to take some kids to Memphis this evening to LeBoneur hospital so that they could see their friend Clayton who in the hospital there after a bad ATV accident. Clayton is in Lexi’s class at school. It was a bad accident and Clayton was air lifted to Memphis. There are 3 girls and 2 boys in the van with us now. All of them are 12 years old and it is never a dull moment. I have heard some stories, I tell you. It can get loud at times too with all of them talking at the same time.
It has been fun though. I am glad that Michelle came up with the idea to take some kids to see Clayton. They were all pretty upset about Clayton’s accident. She just thought of the kids and how good it would be great for them to be able to see him and make everyone feel better. Michelle has thought of others as she always has. She contacted the parents of the kids that wanted to go and made the arrangements and off we go. Lexi is having a blast. We left Allison and Bradley with my mother.
I told Michelle when we stopped at McD’s on our way that I felt old and she asked why. I told her that here you and I are and we are sitting at a table all by ourselves and 5 kids are sitting at a table together and we were responsible for them. What a major responsibility it is to have someone else’s kid that you are making sure that they are staying safe. We are enjoying it though and just love the kids.
We had a great visit in Hector for Easter. Enjoyed the Church service. We had great food and Great company. The kids really enjoyed the visit but it was just too short. The Girls dresses actually came from a lady that made them from a pattern. Such a lovely lady. I had worked on her computer a few times and she had told me that she wanted to make my daughters their dresses for Easter. What a wonderful blessing. Things are going well for Weir Computing. Hopefully, I will be able to get a web site built soon. I have been getting some jobs here and there. I am looking forward to more jobs coming in. What a treat it would be to have multiple computers to work on at the same time. Can you tell that I am just starting out?
All we hear now days is about the health care reform. I wanted to put my few cents in while I can. Don’t get me wrong, I am not about the government running our lives and taking over all of the banks and being in control of my finances. They are doing that now as it seems. But something does need to be done about our healthcare system. I am sure that I don’t know both sides of the story about what the President is wanting to do with our health care system or what the GOP is wanting to do. But the bottom line is, something needs to be done about our current system. I know there are a lot of folks out there that are paying way too much for their coverage and that there seems to be no type of regulations in place for what insurance companies can charge or who they cover. What we need in this country is an overhaul of our Health Care. I don’t have all of the answers but I do know that Government doesn’t either. We need to get back to the basics where OUR Representatives in Washington actually work for US! If you have a Representative in Washington that is not working for you and the people of your state, DON’T vote them back in office.
Well, we ended up going to the ER last night. I had been having chest pains on and off over the last few days and decided to go ahead and go to the hospital to get checked out. After an extended 6 hour stay in the ER, blood work done, CT Scan and EKG, I found that all I have is acute bronchitis. Now I feel stupid for going in but at least I found that my heart is in excellent shape and no blockages anywhere. It was a rough night. I think it was rougher on Michelle. We got back home from the hospital at 4am this morning and she stayed up until she got the kids ready for school and came back from dropping them off and got in bed at about 8am. She did get about 5 hours sleep before getting back up to go get the kids from school. I, of course got my sleep in but still feeling a little rough. Michelle is now passed out on the couch and I don’t have enough nerve to wake her. Maybe I will just bring her pillow to her and make sure she is covered up. Then I guess I will go to bed all by myself. Lexi is having a friend over tonight too so they are keeping themselves busy. Allison and Bradley are already passed out in their beds asleep. Glad I am off this weekend. I of course had to call in sick this morning cause there would be no way I could have worked after being up all night. God Bless to you all.
Addressing a gathering of Senate Democrats, Obama promised to "call (Republicans) out when (Democrats) extend a hand and get a fist in return."Let me also give you the link so that you can read the full context of the quote. It is Here. Now this just cracks me up. He meets with the GOP and gets hammered and then he goes to the Democrats and says now if those folks over there bother you, you come tell me about it. Yea, right! Like he is the Daddy. Come on folks. We DO NOT have time for this little bickering going on here. We Need elected officials to do what they were hired to do. It doesn’t matter what side of the fence they are on, just get off the fence and make a stand. If you make the wrong stand (as determined by the voters) then you will loose your job. Reminds me of telling my kids that if one hits you, come tell me and I will give them a spanking. Oh my! what a waste of taxpayer’s money. I didn’t think that the President was elected to scold either Democrats or Republicans but was elected to run the country.
This month is going too fast. I have been asked to teach Wednesday night at Church for next week. I am looking forward to that. I had the day off today and was able to mow our yard (hopefully for the last time this season). I think that my riding mower is shot. I am truly blessed because every time the mower has broke down, my Dad has always taken it in and gotten it fixed for us. I think that with some of our tax refund money, we need to purchase a new one, or at least a push mower. We get so spoiled to having what we want and getting it. But we can always look at it as blessings. We have to understand that some of the stuff we want may not be want we need. You know, God’s word says that we need to depend on the Lord for our every need. But do we really do that? No, we (and I) see what we want and go get it. You see, if we learn to give up everything and just let the Lord move, then he will. We go to Church and we ask why do we not see the Lord move in our lives. We hunger to hear from the Lord but we do not stop and listen. We pray and ask but go on about doing what WE want to do. Sometimes if we listen, we may not like what we hear. We just don’t drop our worldly stuff and follow. We say we depend on him and want a miracle.
My recommendation is that we fast. We hear about all the stuff going on in Washington and the healthcare bill being passed to the next step and we get worried. My 5 year old son summed it up nicely. One night, my youngest daughter stated that she was scared. My son then explained to her that there is no need to be scared because God is ALWAYS with us. Give something up this week or for the next two weeks that you normally depend on. Food, TV or whatever it might be. Then give that time to the Lord. Just stop during that time that you gain by giving something up and pray and listen what the Lord wants to tell you. Let HIM guide you to get you through your times of need.
It’s just not getting to the point where we have cool nights and not so hot days. This is the first year in a while that we have actually has a slow transition between summer and fall. I do have to say though, that it is rather warmer than normal. Highs in the upper 60’s to lower 70’s and lows into the 40’s. Not bad and not complaining. I do love this kind of weather. Just don’t want it to rain for a while so that the farmers can get their crops in. Not sure what the Winter will bring though. Notice how we start talking about the weather to break the ice and as a conversation starter? Here we go.
Enjoyed Church this morning at the Bay United Methodist Church. We visited there this morning because they were having a special Veterans service. Pastor Angie had invited my family and I to come. It was a touching service. Thanks Pastor Angie for the invite, we always love coming to see everyone.
We also enjoyed Allison’s Birthday Party this weekend. My how the kids are growing up. My In-laws came for the weekend to be at the party. It was fun for the kids and we did enjoy everyone. Just tired after the party.

It is hard to believe that it is already October. The girls’ birthdays are this month which usually means we stay busy for the month. Harvest Festival here in Bay is this weekend. The good thing is that I am on vacation this week. I have gotten a lot done around the house but still not finished yet. The only other big thing that has to be completed before I head back to work is to install a new stove pipe for our wood stove and replace the damper in the pipe. The weather is getting cooler here so we will need to get things ready for winter. I hear that this winter is supposed to be colder and wetter than normal. Things just don’t stay normal anymore when it comes to weather. I can stand some snow but really don’t want the ice storm like we had last year. We were the fortunate ones. We were only out of power for about a week. I am enjoying my week here at home. My In-Laws have come to visit. I enjoy them. I finally have some one to share my coffee with.
October 6th is the run off elections for the Bay School Board. I sure hope everyone gets out and votes. I might have lost the primary election but there are still 2 other people that are running for the position that are more than capable to fill the position. Becky Keith and Kevin Barnett. Everyone has there reasons on who they will vote for. I have my reasons of who I will vote for. As I have said before, Both of these individuals would be excellent choices. I will be casting my vote for Kevin Barnett. I have known his family for a long time. He has been a part of the Bay School system since he started Kindergarten and graduated there. I graduated Bay Schools in 1985 with his Brother. Whoever your choice may be, please cast your vote for your candidate. Either way the election goes, We will all be winners. Becky would do a good job, but just my personal preference, I will vote for Kevin.
I will be preaching again at Trinity Church on October 18th. I will also be singing at the service too, which is a rarity. I will be singing with a friend of mine. Michelle, I believe will be out of town that weekend. If I sing, I normally sing with her. I don’t sing by myself. I am always excited when I get the opportunity to preach. The weather has been so awesome the last few days. I have really enjoyed it. This is the beginning of our busy month. So many things going on. The NEA District Fair is this month on top of all of the meetings at school. Open house for the Elementary, PHT meeting and also the Bay High School Career and Technical Education Advisory Council meeting, the Election for School Board coming up on the 15th, the Elementary Book Fair and also Bradley’s night out at the end of the month by going to the Disney Live show at the Convocation Center. I hope to be able to take Vacation towards the end of the month into the first week of October to recover. Then In October is the Birthdays for the girls and the Bay Harvest Festival (which I always enjoy).
I really enjoyed preaching at Trinity Church in August. I have been asked to teach the singles class next Sunday at Trinity, so that should be exciting. Things have been really busy at work. We had an awesome last quarter that ended in August. Now we have a lot of promos running and the Team is all excited about our increase. We even get a full quarterly bonus. That does tend to excite everyone on the team.
The kids are really enjoying school. Bradley has done so well in Kindergarten. He goes to bed early with no problems because he plays so much and stays so busy at school. Then he is up early and ready to go back. That’s my boy, Always doing and wanting to go somewhere. I just love the picture above of him. We took this picture of him playing in the creek behind my in-laws house in Hector (just outside of Russellville). They have a beautiful place there. I am really looking forward to them coming for a visit. It is so beautiful at there place during the fall. Maybe we can get back down there in the fall again and try to take some pictures of the kids and maybe get Michelle’s sister, Angela to take some pictures of all of us.
God is truly awesome. He always meets our needs and takes care of us. How wonderful to know that Jesus died on the cross for all of us. Not just me and not just for my family, but for each and everyone of us. As I have learned in the past few weeks, we don’t need to be moved by circumstances. Just like Elijah prayed for rain and his servant didn’t see any, He continued to pray and the Lord answered. We just need to diligently seek him in everything we do and do that every day. Not just on Sundays and when we are at Church but in our everyday lives. I guess I am really preaching to myself on this one because it is so easy to just follow a routine and do what we want to do but we (I) have to discipline ourselves (myself) to stay in his word and KNOW the truth about every situation.
